“Postage stamp, as one of the ambassadors of the Republic of Kosovo, through its journey with paper deliveries around the world, does best convey the message of who we are and where we want to go. Postage stamp “Stop violence against women” is a concrete example of the path chosen by the Kosovar society,” said Acting Director of Post of Kosovo, Mr. Blerim Krasniqi in his speech.

Ministry of Transport Post and Communications supported this initiative and considered that there is a required commitment to solve this problem of society.

“Kosovo society and institutions must commit to jointly face the challenges of overcoming gender issues. We must strive collectively to provide the most favorable conditions to all victims of violence for their reintegration into society,” said Emin Krasniqi, Deputy Minister of MTPT.

On the other hand, the Post of Kosovo Transit Centre Director Mr. Burim Geci stated that even though the Republic of Kosovo is a new country, we have put healthy foundations to move
toward higher standards in the field of human rights observance.

“Today, through this edition, Post of Kosovo Philately, PTK JSC, contributes to the prevention of violence against women, any kind of violence, whether physical or psychological. This is also a contribution of PTK JSC and Kosovo society, which is making efforts to ensure that all its members have equal access to a society without violence, without discrimination and with equal opportunities for all,” said Mr. Geci in his speech.

Republic of Kosovo, even though it is a new state, has high standards in the field of human rights observance. Gender equality ensures stability to society, therefore there should be no discrimination of women, as violence against women is a manifestation of the basic positions of unequal relations between men and women, was said during this event.

This postage stamp is part of awareness campaign for women as well as men that the rights to life, the right not to be beaten or tortured, are fundamental human rights without distinction to gender, race, religion or nationality.

Kosovo society is making efforts to ensure that all its members have equal access to society without violence, without discrimination and with equal opportunities for all.
